Coaching is a partnership between the Coach and the Client in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires the client to maximize personal and professional potential. It is designed to facilitate the creation or development of personal, professional, or business goals and to develop and carry out a strategy or plan for achieving those goals. Holistic Coaching takes this one step further, looking at the inter-connectedness of the mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual domains, and uses this lens to facilitate Client growth.
A coaching relationship can be a powerful experience, involving the development of new possibilities, new levels of achievement and personal growth. The coaching relationship between the coach and the client is founded upon mutual trust and respect. The central focus of the coaching relationship is the well-being of the client. Fundamental to a successful coaching experience is learning. The coach supports the client in reaching the desired outcome of the client by exploring new ways to view situations and possibilities, and in developing new approaches, plans, strategies, and actions.
While both holistic coaches and therapists help individuals improve their lives, therapists typically focus on addressing mental health issues and past traumas, while coaches focus on helping individuals achieve their goals and improve their overall well-being.
Confidentiality is of utmost importance in my coaching practice. I adhere to the International Coach Federation's (ICF) Code of Ethics, which includes strict guidelines for maintaining client confidentiality.
The International Coaching Federation is the leading global organization for coaches and coaching. ICF is the "gold standard" for coaching governance, with coaches following core competencies, ethics and standards, continuing education, and accreditation of coach education programs, in addition to building a worldwide network of trained coaching professionals.
